Day Three

ABOUT DAY THREE

The Group -

Scott Washam, Amy Dunnam and Rhonda Whitman have been involved in Gospel Music dating back to the early 90's. Scott and Rhonda have both sang in various groups and Amy Dunnam had a successful solo ministry. On July 25, 2014, God planted a vision of "Day Three" in the hearts of Scott and Amy.  The two would soon pick up Bo Sullivan and the original Day Three formed in 2016.  As time passed, Bo came off of the road leaving a void not only in the group, but in our hearts of our fans.  We knew that God had someone special to take his place.  He was aligning Day Three with Rhonda Whitman to join our ministry. We never dreamed that singing with our friend Rhonda would be possible.  Since releasing their first record in 2017, "Just Sing," Day Three has found themselves with multiple Top 80 hits in the Singing News, top 30 hits with SGNScoops and the cover of Christian Voice Magazine. It was easy to see that Day Three would gain national notoriety.  This trio has been blessed with many nominations and awards; most recently securing the 2019 Sunrise Trio of The Year Diamond Award presented by SGNScoops.  Many have questioned Day Three on how they came up with their name, some make references to Resurrection Day. And although that is the popular answer, it's the incorrect one! Look at what God created on the third day. He prepared the soil to take seed and bring forth new vegetation. That is the goal of Day Three. To plant a 'Salvation Message' and 'God Loves You' seed in the hearts of every listener.  Rhonda, Scott and Amy just want to be used by Him to spread the good news!

Meet Scott

Scott Washam began singing at the age of 12 in his local youth Choir at Lucedale Church of God in Lucedale, MS.  His first Southern Gospel experience was with Heavens Echoes from Saraland, Alabama, where he played piano.  Today Scott plays piano for Day Three and handles the baritone, lead and tenor. This year, Scott will celebrate 31 years in Southern Gospel music.  He works full-time with Optum Insight, where he is a Strategic Solutions Advisor in the Implementation department.  In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing tennis, golf, board games, cards and spending time with his family.  Scott also piddles in graphic design and does most of Day Three's graphics.

Meet Rhonda

Rhonda Whitman began singing at the age of 18 along side her mother, Eve Whitman at the piano.  Rhonda also learned to play bass guitar at 4 years old and is one of the finest bass players in Southern Gospel music today.  Rhonda has grown up among many legends in gospel music.  She's from the northern part of Alabama near Cheaha Mountain.  She has been involved in Southern Gospel her entire life.  She will celebrate 49 years of singing and playing this year.  She's sang with groups like the Rowlands and currently handles the high soprano, lead and sometimes alto for Day Three. She works full time in a plant nursery where she takes care of various types of vegetation.

Meet Amy

Amy Dunnam was born into a singing and preaching family. Her dad was a preacher and the family traveled often. She learned the words to “In The Valley”, penned by the late Dottie Rambo at a very young age and it has become her theme song through the years.  She is a 18 year cancer survivor.  Amy has a passion for people like no one I've ever met.  Her alto voice has been compared to Legends such as Vestal Goodman and Libby Perry.  Amy works as a full time mechanic at Avis Budget Rental Car here in Mobile.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening, being with her family and occasionally doing a little bit of cooking.  Amy also keeps the group in line when traveling up and down I65.
